Blip.fm

Blip.fm

I’ve been using this site the past several weeks, and I’m really starting to like it.  It’s essentially a microblog that revolves around music.  You type in a song or artist you want to listen to, preview the song, and if you like it enough you can type in some text and “blip” the song for the public to see.  The site takes music that’s being streamed all over the internet, so it’s got a pretty big database of songs.

Blip.fm is a lot like Twitter, in the fact that you’re limited in the amount of text you can use in your blip, but the site also makes you recommend a song for each blip you make.  You can select people to follow, just like on Twitter, and it’s a great way to see what your friends are listening to each day.

Let me know what you think.  My user name is “torpey”.
